Art Out! at the Wish Tower, 26th May.
hosted by Tania Long
Bank Holiday Monday
Arrive 11.30. Meet at Wish Tower Gardens, Eastbourne.
Distribute ourselves around the place and start making art.
The idea is to celebrate the Wish Tower and surrounding gardens, so use it as your inspiration:
Themes/ideas
Draw/paint/design a postcard or series of postcards
Sketch/photo details of architecture, use as inspiration for pattern design or abstract picture
Take rubbings, make a collage
(Tania will be making leaf prints)
Write poem/prose/atmosphere of the place
Write short sketch or story set in the Tower or surrounds
Knitters,how about some 'yarn bombing?
Fabric artists, jewellery makers, how about using textures and patterns in a piece of art?
Or how ever and in whatever way you feel inspired to make art today, its all about having fun,
celebrating the pier, and engaging the public interest in art.
* VERY IMPORTANT!*
Art Outs are NOT a selling event
As long as we are not: selling stuff,'obstructing the highway', 'making a nuisance (?) of ourselves' or 'being a fire hazard' (the mind boggles) its fine,
we're just 'busking'.
Come and have some creative fun in the sun!

For

bring any number of completed painting / drawings etc to enter and display at
the START of the session so people can vote throughout the evening for the
winner. The winning entry will be used in the 2015 AAG Calendar so please let me have the winning entry some time soon so that I can get it scanned ready for print.
Please spread the word about our Art & Crafts show on 10/11 May - there are still plenty of screens left to book and pitches in the field for gazebos for crafts.
The 'Farm Animals' Art Competition deadline has been extended to 1st May and now also includes 'Bluebells' as a theme so that anyone who painted a bluebell picture in preparation, before the theme was changed, can enter their work after all! Judging will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend. Entries received by the original deadline of 7th April will go up on 9th April - if anyone would like to help display these, meet me at the bluebell walk at 1pm - and other entries will go up when I am able to get to the walk each week. The £1 per entry still stands.
Jackie Govier has kindly volunteered to unlock the hall on 10th April but we need another volunteer to take the key to open up on 17th April otherwise you'll all end up standing in the car park for the evening!
Kate Osborne has said how much she enjoyed giving the demonstration to the group last week and said what a lovely group we all are - well done everyone. BUT I would stress that when we have a workshop or demonstration, you should ensure that you arrive ready for 7pm to avoid disruption.
Finally, a big thank you to all of you for your continued support of the group. See you soon,
Josie.
