Thank you

Thank you everyone for making the Arlington Arts Festival 2013 such a wonderful week of events - a full report will follow soon.
I have yet to count up the takings but all those artists who sold work will get their payments very soon.
We are already thinking about next year's events so let us know if you want to help.

The next Art group outing is Thursday 27th June, meet 10am in Michelham Priory Car Park (weather permitting) for a bit of outdoor painting/drawing. No charge (unless you want to pay to go into the Priory grounds), bring your own materials etc - untutored. The evening session is from 7-9 at the Village Hall - see HERE for details.

Paul Vincent on Paul Vincent

AAG Member, Paul Vincent, brought along a selection of his work and talked to us about the influences for his cartoon illustrations and caricatures. He also showed us his excellent portrait of fellow member, Richard.

Road Closure update

There is access to Abbots Wood car park from both directions (ie to and from Arlington and Hailsham) at Caneheath but the road is officially 'closed'. If you do drive through this 'road closed' area be aware that there are no lights around the areas where the water company is working so drive slowly and be prepared for oncoming traffic and delays during the day. This road will be 'closed' until 24th June. It's not advisable to turn into Tye Hill Lane at the 'road closed' sign as it is very narrow at the far end.
To access the village hall without driving in the 'road closed' area you need to follow the diversion signs from Hailsham direction past Michelham Priory, left towards Berwick station then take the left turn towards Arlington (shortly after going over the railway crossing).
From the Wilmington direction, take the a27 to the Drusillas roundabout, turn right towards Berwick Station then right towards Arlington

Thursday, 23 May 2013

For anyone coming to the painting session at Abbots Wood  - car park charges are £2.20 2 hrs/£3.30 4hrs/ £4.40 all day.

Outdoor painting session - 23rd May, before the bluebells disappear.

10am Thursday 23rd May, meet in Abbots Wood Car Park (by the pay and display machine).
We'll walk a short way past the Adventure Trail area to find a quiet and shady spot with some bluebells. Stay as long as you like.
No charge (except the car park fees). Bring your own materials etc and a fold up chair. There are toilets on site.
If you want to find carpets of bluebells, consider also going to Arlington Bluebell Walk .... and remember to enter our Paint Me A Bluebell competition!
