Arlington Art & Craft Show application NOW OPEN!!

Applications are now invited from Artists and Craftspeople wishing to take part in the Arlington Art & Craft Show on 9th & 10th July 2011Print your copy of the form and letter from this link ( once the file has opened and you can view it to read, go to the top left and click FILE - download original file OR Print (PDF). You will then be able to print from the downloaded file).

Thursday Evening Art Sessions

 Most Thursdays we have Art Evenings at Arlington Village Hall. All are welcome. Bring along your own materials, equipment and project to work on and paint / draw / create in the company of others. Every week we have a 'suggested theme' in case you are needing inspiration but you are welcome to do your own thing. We have a small selection of paints, brushes and paper available to borrow/buy.
£2.50 per session ( no charge for accompanied children). No regular commitment needed. Refreshments available for a small donation.
Below are suggested themes for each session (you can ignore the theme if you are already inspired!)
  • 17th March NO MEETING
  • 24th March - Spring Woodland
  • 31st March - Group Picture (TBC). [Deadline to hand in photos for Spring Woodland art competition.] 
  • 7th Apr - (Change from previously advertised demonstration) Regular session: 'Inspired by' your favourite artist
  • 14th Apr - 'Still Life', bring your own.  Artist of the month.
  • 21st Apr - NO MEETING - hall in use. 
  • 28th Apr - 'Portraits'. Posible model and tutor for this session, £8.-£10 TBC. Please check in advance with Josie.
  • 5th May - 'Royal Wedding' (!) OR 'May Day'
  • 12th May - 'Transport'
  • 19th May - Demonstration by Viv Walkington - still life flowers in watercolour. loose and colourful watercolours. £5 members / £6 visitors.  Artist of the month.
  • 26th May - 'Books' / 'Farming'.

Competition Time - Paint Me a "Spring Woodland"

You can interpret the title as you like . Your entry can be painted or drawn in any medium and to any size but we need a PHOTOGRAPH of your work to judge, not the original.
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: 31st March 2011

All photographs will be displayed during the opening of the 2011 Arlington Bluebell Walk (opening dates to be confirmed on www.bluebellwalk.co.uk) and visitors will be asked to vote for the winners in each category. The ORIGINALS of all the winning entries will then be displayed at the Arlington Arts Festival 9/10th July 2011.

Categories:
A - Under 8's (50 p per entry),
B - 8 to 16 years (50p per entry)
C - 65 and over (50p per entry),
D - Amateur (£1 per entry),
E - Professional (£1 per entry)

Please send you photographs (size approximately 5 x 7") with NO name on the front, to the address below. Mark your name, address, telephone, email and category entered on the BACK of the photograph with £1 per entry in category D and E, or 50p per entry for category A, B and C Unlimited number of entries. Cheques payable to ARLINGTON ARTS GROUP,
We can not return photographs. Please ensure your original work is available to display on 8-10th July in the event of you being a winner. Full terms and conditions on the website. Art Demonstrator


Mike Tann will be demonstrating his distinctive way of working using mixed media and collage. Thurs 24th Feb, Arlington Village Hall, 7-9pm. All welcome. £6 on the door (£5 AAG members).
