Arlington Arts Group
Promoting arts events and artists in and around the rural area local to Arlington in East Sussex, UK. (BN26 6RX - postcode for centre of Arlington)
Tuesday 23 October 2018
Sunday 8 October 2017
End of an era
At the group meeting on 5th October it was agreed to dissolve the official Arlington Arts Group as there are insufficient numbers to make regular meetings viable.
There is one final art session at Arlington Village Hall on Thursday 9th November, 7-9pm, untutored, informal, come and paint / draw your own projects in company - all welcome, no charge.
It would be a shame not to keep in touch so we have a public Facebook group Arlington Arts Group, where anyone can share arty news and ideas.
For those who want to still meet up on occasions for outdoor painting sessions or gallery visits, there is also a private Facebook group- please ask Josie if you would like to be a member of the private group. (You do need to open a Facebook account to be able to view the private group so if you can't bear the thought of that, let me know and I'll make sure you hear of events somehow!). For the few members who gave been meeting regularly over the last six months, there are two social events planned then the group bank account will be closed.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of Arlington Art/s Group over the past 10+ years :)
Over and out.

OUR FUTURE!
Sept 28th - Demonstration by Jo Hudson in watercolour at Arlington Village Hall. 7 - 9pm. £2.50 visitors (AAG members FREE). All welcome, no need to book. Refreshments available for a donation.
Oct 5th - Meeting to review the group, at Pickhams, Wilmington, 7pm.
Would you like the group to continue to run as it is (£2.50 members / £5 visitors, untutored, unstructured, no need to book, 3 Thursdays of each month at Arlington Village Hall, 7 - 9pm) or would you be willing to pay £50 up front for 10 sessions, tutor lead but do your own thing if you prefer, maybe on another evening at Arlington Village hall? Which day / evening would suit you? Would another time suit you better than 7 - 9pm? Would you rather just attend monthly demonstrations and / or workshops and pay £10/ £15 per session? Any other suggestions?
Let Josie know your thoughts before the meeting in October and PLEASE COME TO THE MEETING.
This meeting is open to members, regulars, non members and those wishing to join an art group in Arlington.
Without your input, the group will close on 5th October.

Due to low attendance it is best to cancel the weekly sessions at Pickhams and just stick to the monthly demo sessions at the village hall until the end of September. It would be good to have these well attended to support the visiting artists so please do make an effort to come along - you won't be disappointed! There are also 2 art group special events in August. Please check below for details. We will then meet on the first Thursday in October to discuss the future of the group. Please pass this information on to other members.
